And even though it was a long weekend, we had a great time. There was so much amazing scenery on the drive up; we saw two moose - one on the side of the highway somewhere, it was dark, and the other was a poor old one with a limp, hanging out in downtown Smithers - there were tons of deer, and in Prince Rupert, they refer to eagles as the "rats of the sky" because they are so abundant! We got a few things accomplished while we were there. We got Chad signed up with a local cell number; had the grand tour of his new office and met most of the staff; we went to McDonald's around 11 on Saturday, so we met 4 of our brothers & sisters who were out in the ministry; and after being shown through one unsavory place after another, we landed the most amazing house to rent. There are no buildings between our back yard and the ocean, so the view from the place is spectacular. While we were looking over the place, there were about 10 eagles circling in the sky, and two - a grown and an immature bald - in a tree just at the end of the back yard.
We've got 20 boxes packed now, so the house is starting to look like we're getting ready to move, but it still feels unreal to me! But it's reassuring to have been there, and to have a better idea of where we're moving to.
