Woman with a Cat

Our landlords had been living in the house we're now renting and when they moved out, they left some furniture and art work behind. One I found particularly appealing was this one:

It was set on top of a dresser in the master bedroom; I thought maybe it was a portrait of our landlady or something. Anyway, the other day, I took it from the dresser because I was going to put it up on the wall; and when I was looking at the back to see if there was hanging hardware, I saw it was a print of Renoir's "Woman with a Cat".

A website offering handpainted reproductions says the following about it:

""Woman with a Cat" was painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in Oil on canvas during the Impressionism epoch in c. 1875. Original painting size was 18.1" x 22.1" (46.0cm x 56.0cm). The style of the painting is Impressionist and the theme represented is Animals, Figure. The painting is currently displayed at The National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC."

I came across this quote the other day and thought it fit nicely with this post:

"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls." ~Pablo Picasso

That's really cool.
When I was reading it, and I came to the part where you said "Renoir", I thought you were gonna say you had discovered a priceless piece of art!
but then I saw the part where you said it was a print...ah shucks, hehe
