~A borrowed title, I know, but it was the most appropriate thing I could think to title this post!
We have been living in our new house now for about a week and a half. There are still things being worked on around us, but, we're in! Our first night here was the Friday before this past one. When we arrived, the brother & sister working on the house had left for the evening; which worked for us -- we just wanted to crawl into OUR OWN bed anyway.
The last we'd heard, the only working toilet was the one in the basement bathroom; and the only working source of running water was the tub in the upstairs bathroom. But we were in our own bed!! But,we hadn't been in bed for very long when I realized that, perhaps, my dinner was disagreeing with my tummy. So, I got out of bed, painstakingly slowly made my way down the stairs to the basement, used the toilet, came back upstairs, washed my hands in the bathtub, and crawled back into bed. Five more times this would happen. Down the stairs, use the toilet, up the stairs, use the tub. Finally though, my tummy was through complaining about my dinner, and I fell asleep.
The next morning when the brother & sister showed up for the day's work, I was sharing this humourous anecdote with them. At the end of the story, the sister looked at me and said, "Did you not realize we'd set the toilet in the ensuite for you??" um, no.... "We were an hour late for our dinner plans because we wanted to have that finished for you last night!"
Ah haha. Okay. The next few days were fairly uneventful; but Tuesday night, around 10:30 p.m., we heard this loud noise, and all the lights we had on got really really bright, then dimmed back to normal. We thought it was a power surge or something. Anyway, Chad wandered around the house, looking for signs of electrical malfunction; but he couldn't see or smell anything. So we went to bed for the night.
The next morning, he got up for work as usual, went to the basement for a shower, then he crawled back into bed under the covers with me, saying, "ugh, that shower wasn't very warm at ALL!" So he warmed up for a bit, and headed off to work.
When the brother & sister arrived and they asked how things were going, I told them about the weird thing with the lights, then they went on to work and I was puttering upstairs. A few minutes later, I hear a voice from the basement, "I think I know what your problem was.... your hot water tank is on the fritz!" I almost rolled with laughter while I told them, "That would explain why Chad's shower wasn't very warm!" LOL
Needless to say, this recent move has been filled with adventures! :-)
And, speaking of funny things... I signed up for a "Bebo" account lately. And today I've been uploading film clips onto it. A few weeks ago, the program "world's funniest commercials" ran; and we happened to record it. So I saved my favourite ones, and you can find them on my Bebo site! See if you can figure out which one made me spit at the TV from laughing out loud....!
-= PS =- I wanted to say thanks for the comments on my previous posts - I appreciate them all, and the concern shown. Thanks!

Ah man, why didn't they tell you they set the toilet in the ensuite?! That woulda been soooo frusterating, lol.
Sounds like it's all a ton-o-fun, haha. It'll make for some good stories to reminisce and laugh at :-P
